The transformation of the city being led by the municipal administration will not have the necessary scope without the participation of industry, companies, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, social groups and users of municipal services.
Through an agreement between Madrid City Council and the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a physical and virtual space for innovation and excellence has been set up to establish a model that will enable the deployment of an open, neutral and interoperable IoT network that will drive the digital transformation of services, based on cutting-edge technologies such as 5G SA, IoT, cybersecurity, data-IA, which are the 4 initial areas of the new agreement that begins in 2024. Zero Emission, Autonomous and Connected Vehicle (CCAM) for the transport of people in Mercamadrid

Design of a zero-emission mobility plan with a customer-centric approach, in which the first effective deployment will be an autonomous bus, level 4-5, for passenger transport. This vehicle, with greater capacity than those deployed to date, will be connected to the 5G network and will also have a data space with all the system's information to be analysed and reused by all the operators in the Mercamadrid area.
